I will buy a soldering iron with a fine tip as my soldering iron isn't that good, it has a rather large tip which makes it a pain to solder small points.

My eyes are 11 years older than yours, i know how it feels.

If your iron has a copper tip file it down.

Hi Birdman, I "tapped" KN using the enter button as my devo7e has no touchscreen and nothing happens, i.e. no options appears so I can't see WLtoys. Also on the right hand side of the KN there is only Re-Init option and when I click using the enter button the bind option doesn't appear it only has the Re-Init option.

Could it be something to do with the latest nightly that I have installed?

I have deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-583c468 nightly build installed.

This is what is in the error.txt file when I connected it to the pc and checked error logs;

Some good news :) . The CSN connector cable that I soldered to the NRF24L01 module had gotten loose and was shorting on the MOSI connector. I had to buy factor +3.00 reading glasses (from the pound shop, so cost only £1) to enable me to see very close lol. There are no error messages now and the bind option is available even the WLtoys option is also available lol. I will now put the tx back cover on and install a V977 module file and see if it binds fingers crossed :).

cool

another member has a question regarding the 7e and kn protocol here
www.deviationtx.com/forum/model-configs/...s-v931-v977-v2#40752
because you have a 7e you might be able to better answer his question

thanks

I am impressed :) . Just had a test flight in 6g mode and it flies much much better using Deviation (Devo7e) than it used to with the original WLtoys Tx.
Also as I had already mechanically trimmed the V977 and leveled the swash plate, there are no drifts so no need to apply any trims. Very stable flight. I am a beginner so still afraid of trying 3 axis mode, I will wait till I get better.

Another newbie question, how do I adjust expo and dual rates on 3d (3 axis) mode for the V977? I have read the deviation manual but still confused.

I am interested as well. I need to adjust the tail dual rates as I need a bit of acceleration when pushing it up fast. Don't know whether is possible or not, but it would be good as I converted my 977 to 2s and althougt is very stable in flight, it is much more powerful and tail is sometimes hard to lock.

Thank you.

what switches does 7e have?

ini allows you to select and adjust expo/rates on mix 3 position sw

so, use ail/ele setup page to adjust and use sw to select

try use rud expo/rates template

not sure if rx will allow settings above 100

not easy to test for any changes

Thanks Birdman, I have modified my devo 7e by adding two 2 position switches, so one switch switches between 3 D and 6 g modes and the other switch switches between high and low rates. I will try adjust the expo and use one of the two position switches to switch between high and low rates.

be aware that ch5 rates and mix sw expo/rates are two entirely different settings

i leave ch5 rates on high and use mix switch for setting/selecting expo/rates

use one of your 2 pos sw with only 2 of the mix sw settings

i think ch5 uses factory presets which cannot be changed

Thanks. I will remove one of the switches from channel five and leave channel five's switch source to none so it goes to its high default setting. I will then use that switch for the exp/dr rates.
