Some cool things appear here!

First, I think it's quite good news to have a manufacturer that wants to support Deviation natively. The first attempt (T8SG, I have one in the mail already) might not be perfect yet, but it's a really good starting point. Looking forward for tuning parts for the Jumper T8SG as well as our beloved Devos (especially Gimbals), also made by Jumper ;)

Improvement proposal:
- better voltage suply (from what I've read) as well as 4 NiMh suport
- USB accessible from the outside
- shoulder (Kill) switch(es)

At this point, I want to say a big thank you to all people involved in Deviation, great work guys!!

It should work without problem using trainer port. I'm not sure if USB HID is implemented, if it is, then connecting via USB should also work.

I've just got my Jumper T8SG.

First, it has not battery box inside, but 4 empty posts on back cover. :(

Second, it looks like rotary knobs (AUX4 and AUX5) are reversed also. In my case if knob rotated clockwise value go to -100%, counterclockwise value go to +100%. With Devo 12s if knob rotated clockwise value go to +100%. Can anybody with Devo 10 confirm common rotary knobs direction?

Third, contrast 10 (for LCD driver, not screen value) is real maximum, with higher values background will get dark.

Fourth, the green LED occasionally goes out, RF output OFF? :(

Fifth, all switches reversed, upper position = SW2, middle SW1, lower SW0. I think that it does not really matter, since they are non-typical switches.

It seems that I'm not lucky :(

on devo10 rotary knobs direction is: value grows when turning clockwise. so 100% right position, -100% left position (there is a mark on knob that is on top when 0%)

Thank you, I will reverse rotary knobs direction (AUX4 and AUX5) for T8SG build.

You can flash new firmware version T8SG with reversed AUX4 and AUX5:

What do you think about switches? Is it worth fix it or leave it as is?

For me it is better to leave switches as it is, otherwise I have to change all my models.

I suggest making them consistent with the other devos, as this will make it a lot easier to have interchangeable models between different devos.

But none of the Devo's transmitters has such switches as T8SG. When I use devo8 model for T8SG, all switches were replaced by AUX5.

+1 consistence should stay

@ llinde: You could easily change your existing model files using a text editor and just replace sw(x)0 with sw(x)2 and vice versa...

Seems somehow like one should hold the T8SG upside down to use it like a normal Devo :P

@vlad_vy: But most devo7e with additional switches have at least SW A and SW B, usually as a three way switch (seems to be the most common configuration).

The point about consistency I agree with, but since other Devo's have completely different names there is no consitency...
Another point is that somebody who makes models with the original firmware has to change the models when upgrading to new firmware.

Changing is not that easy as you say, you have to change sw a0 to sw ax, change sw a2 to sw a0, change sw ay to sw a2 and that for 4 switches and 45 ini files....
For me this would be a reason not to upgrade to new firmware versions.

And a reference to RUD DR0 in my Devo 10 profile I forgot to replace was changed to RUD on my T8SG, resulting in missing rudder control......

This means it still is not consistent, only for a small part with some modified Devo's

@llide: I meant consistent as in "switch up" is "0" and "switch down" is "1" or "2", depending on switch type. Don't underestimate the number of devo7e's (due to its price probably the most common devo) and many of them have the very easy switch mod done to them.

Regardless the choice you make, it doesn't change the fact you have to change switchnames when transferring profiles from another Devo.
This of course is no new fact, transferring between Devo models always needs attention for switches, so reversing will not solve it, and only create two different versions of T8SG profiles, which I'm afraid will create even more confusion.
I agree that it would have been better when the manufacturer had put it the other way around.

about switches - couldn't you just mechanically turn them upside down? aren't they symmetrical?
